High performance exhaust components
Earlier this year we completed a small batch of prototype exhaust components for a fast jet programme. The parts shown were manufactured from exotic nickel alloys on our fluid cell and bulge forming presses. The part dimensions are 28” diameter, the ribbed exhaust duct is 3 feet long. All parts were first “pressed” virtually direct from CAD model using our forming prediction software – allowing MSM to prove and demonstrate the process upfront of our customer’s financial commitment to tooling and materials. We are currently utilising this process expertise on another R&D project this time for a next generation turbofan exhaust nozzle.
