MSM invest in new 40" Fluid Form Press

ex-boeing fluid forming press

To improve on MSM’s renowned abilities in the complex forming of high temperature materials, we have invested in a new fluid form press.  This ex-Boeing press forms at 7,500 psi and has a working area of 40". The unit will allow draw depths of upto 10" and has dual table loading which will allow greater efficiencies in labour and throughput.

We are expecting that the press, combined with our Nadcap approved 5 axis laser will put MSM in a very competitive position in the supply of stainless steel, inconel and titanium formed parts for aircraft nacelles, exhausts, shrouds and intakes.

An added benefit is that increased capacity will be realised on our largest Saab press, as we continue development of our bespoke bulge forming technique for large diameter one-piece cones and ducts.
