MSM excel in production of Louvre Assemblies
Fast becoming one of our specialities are louvre assemblies for high temperature bleed-air exhaust. MSM manufacture these units in inconel for various aircraft nacelles. Their complexity lies in the critical form of the individual louvre blades which are pressed on our Saab high pressure equipment to tight tolerances on both form and thickness. They are then accurately profiled and jig-assembled.
A further challenging aspect of the (photo2) louvre was the extremely short leadtime available. MSM produced the first article component just 12 weeks from receipt of CATIA data. We were indebted to our supplier partner for their rapid tool and fixture design and manufacture, whilst MSM’s engineers achieved raw material blank design and a manufacturing process which produced a “right first time” product.
